Are steroids harmful to the human body?
The word, "steroids" itself describes its definition because "roids means juice or some hormone that exists in the human body. The human body naturally produces steroids for growth development and is sometimes prescriptive by doctors. But now a day's sportspersons without prescriptions used such steroids to boost muscles and athlete performance without knowing their side effects.
How dangerously it affects you!

It can decrease your (good) HDL cholesterol and increase your
(bad) LDL cholesterol

lead to heart attack, kidney failure, and insomnia.

If we use steroids more than the prescribed period it may lead to cirrhosis or liver
damage which gradually causes liver failure.

Steroids if given in high
dose, a risk factor for infection name varicella-zoster virus which cause skin infections like measles and
shingles

Using injectable steroids increases the chances of HIV, hepatitis b and
hepatitis c because of sharing needles.

Steroids effects sexuality by increasing the size of breasts in
males while in women breasts get smaller

After long-term use depression
mood swings, hallucination, illusions, and irritable behavior usually occur when
you get addicted to this drug.

In males, steroids effects different ways e.g. erectile dysfunctioning, decrease sexual drive, low sperm count, shrink testicles, thinning of hair, prostate

In women, it can enlarge the clitoris, smaller breasts, increase
sexual drive, thicken facial and body hairs, have deepened voice like men, menstrual problems, and hair loss

These are essential in medicine as
life-saving agents but should not be allowed by the government to purchase
without prescription due to life-threatening effects.
